About Valencia Grows
Valencia Grows is a small, hand scale herb and vegetable farm tucked away at Auerfarm in Bloomfield, Ct.
Valencia Grows LLC began with a vision: to establish an herb farm that serves as a hub for community members seeking fresh and dried, medicinal and culinary herbs, vegetables and edible flowers, grown with purpose and intention. Emphasizing “purpose and intention,” the vision for the farm has evolved into a journey of learning and reimagining our connection with the land. As we cultivate the soil, nurture the crops, and observe the cycles of nature, we are presented with opportunities to deepen our understanding of ancestral farming practices and harmonious coexistence with the environment. This process of learning and reimagining our relationship with the land allows us to appreciate the interconnectedness of all living beings and the importance of stewardship for future generations. Serving as a conduit for members of the community -near and far- to deepen that relationship, Valencia Grows strives to create a space where individuals can access benefits of herbalism while supporting local agriculture and preserving cultural knowledge.

Community Days
At The Farm
Community work and learn days at the farm typically involve volunteers coming together to participate in various tasks aimed at supporting the farm and learning about sustainable agriculture practices. These activities may include planting, weeding, harvesting, composting, and other farm-related tasks. Participants have the opportunity to work alongside experienced farmers, gaining hands-on experience and knowledge about organic farming methods. These events not only help to support the farm's operations but also foster a sense of community and connection among participants.

“Every donation is an opportunity for a returned investment in yourself and the community.”
With your donations, last year, I was able to purchase basic supplies: seeds, seed trays, soil amendments, lock in a 5 year lease for farm land, attend farming conferences, levels I and II of an herbalism apprenticeship with Master Herbalist, Empress Karen Rose of Sacred Vibes Apothecary, high tunnel materials, re-purposed wood and windows, compost, hand tools, farm gear, pest solutions (more insects), farming education and more. As a small farm, your donations and support are critical to the improvement and sustainability of the farm’s operation, the local environment, the health and support of community members who receive food from local pantries, patrons of herbal offerings and more. Every donation is an opportunity for a returned investment in yourself and the community.

Why buy from Valencia Grows?
Nothing Inorganic Here
Alhough we don’t yet have an organic farm certification, ALL seeds, soil amendments, and fertilizers used ARE organic and responsibly sourced or made.
Pesticide Free
We now know that unhealthy plants attract pests. Sometimes, the environment: soil microbes, diseases carried in the winds and rains and more can contribute to plant health loss. To control pests, we use practices like crop rotation, solarization, all-natural amendments like fermented plant juices, baking soda, and other natural approaches.
Intentionally Crafted
Grown, harvested and packaged by Farmer and Herbalist, each herb is carefully cultivated using regenerative farming practices and an ongoing relationship of reiprocity with the Earth.
